Welcome to Bella Fattoria Goat Farm

ADGA registered Nigerian Dwarf Goats

About US

Bella Fattoria  started out as a little hobby farm. We had a couple of mixed breed goats as pets.  Once our own kids came along , we discovered the goats were a little too aggressive for the little ones. We were fortunate that a friend was able to give them a home.

We still wanted goats so we did some research. We discovered the world of Nigerian dwarf goats. They were the perfect size and where know for their gentleness. Nigerians also produce more butterfat than any other breed.  Which is great for making butter and cheese.

When we brought home our first Nigerians we just fell in love!! Ok well, maybe me more than the rest of the family. I decided that it would be fun to breed them and have a little homestead. I also discovered that goats can be really addicting. It’s kind of like chips. You can‘t have just one, you NEED the entire bag!  I did more research and found more Nigerians that “NEEDED” a home.

At this point I decided that I wanted to do more with my herd. I researched farms and pedigrees.. I talked with many phenomenal breeders. With their help , I discovered what I was looking for and what I wanted to do with my herd.

Like so many of the breeders I talked to, I wanted to  breed to better the breed.  we now participate in DHIR milk test and linear appraisal.  These are wonderful tools for a breeder to gain more information about their herd and what they are produce.

Herd shares are available for Milk and Cheese

Can be made with raw or pasteurized milk.
